Ers talwm roedd Deiniolen yn le prysur iawn. Roedd llawer o siopau yn Deiniolen ac yn y pentrefi eraill. Y rheswm dros hyn oedd fod llawer o bobl yn gweithio yn Chwarel Dinorwig. Ond er pan gaewyd y Chwarel yn 1967 mae Deiniolen a'r pentrefi eraill wedi dirywio. Dim ond tair siop sydd yn Neiniolen erbyn hyn sef Y Post, Crefftau Elidir a'r Co-op. Un siop sy'n Clwt y Bont a dim un yn Ninorwig. Mae llawer o siopau yn y Stryd Fawr wedi cau erbyn hyn.

Long ago Deiniolen was a very busy place. There were lots of shops in Deiniolen and in the other villages. The reason for this was because lots of people worked at the quarry. But since the quarry closed in 1967 Deiniolen and the villages have declined. Now there are only three shops in Deiniolen which are the Post Office, Crefftau Elidir and the Co-op. There's only one shop in Clwt y Bont and none in Dinorwig, By now lots of shops along the High Street are closed.
