Adeiladwyd yr Ysgol yn 1875 gyda cherrig o chwarel Groesfaen - fferm gyfagos. Pris adeiladu'r Ysgol oedd £713.
Roedd 46 o blant ar y gofrestr yr wythnos gyntaf.
Cyflog y Prifathro cyntaf oedd £130 y flwyddyn, a chai ei wraig £5 y flwyddyn am ddysgu'r merched i bwytho.
Ei bolisi oedd 'Strict discipline-Good learning'.
Y tair 'R' yn unig oedd y plant yn ei ddysgu a roeddynt i gyd yn Gymry.
Roedd presenoldeb yn isel iawn am gyfnodau oherwydd cynhaeaf gwair ac yd ac amser codi tatws.
Roedd teuluoedd o wyth neu naw o blant yn gyffredin iawn. Oherwydd hyn roedd yn rhaid i'r plant weithio er mwyn cael dau ben llinyn ynghyd.

The school was built in 1875 with the stones of Groesfaen Quarry. The price of building was £713. There was 46 children on the register. The Headmaster's salary was £130 a year and his wife had £5 a year for teaching the girls to sew.
His motto was "Strict discipline - Good learning". They were taught the three 'R's only. All the pupils were Welsh.
The number of children attending were very low at times because it was time to harvest the hay, oats and potatoes.
Families of eight or nine children were very common and because of this the children had to go out to work to make ends meet.

Roedd yno 42 o ddisgyblion. Ar lawr o fwd roeddynt yn dysgu darllen, ysgrifennu a rhifyddeg.

Roedd  oed y plant yn amrywio o 5-13 ac roeddynt yn berffaith anllythrennog. Saesneg oedd cyfrwng yr addysg er nad oedd y plant yn deall yr iaith. Caent eu cosbi am siarad Cymraeg.
Yn 1887 y dechreuwyd defnyddio inc. Cyn hyn roedd y plant yn defnyddio llechi i ysgrifennu.
Yn 1927 y cafwyd y piano cyntaf i'r ysgol a'i bris oedd £37.

Did you Know that the school was held in a small room in the Chapelbefore building the school. There were 42 pupils on the floors of mud and they learnt the tree 'R's which were writing, reading and arithmetic .

The children varied from 5-13 and were perfectly illiterate. English was the medium education even though the children didn't understand the language. They were punished if they talked Welsh.
In 1887 the school started using ink,
before this they used slate to write.
In 1927 the first school piano was bought and cost £37.
