John Sampson was born in Victorian Street, Liverpool. His funeral was held on a hillside in Wales. Hundreds gathered at at the little village of Llangwm near Corwen just below Foel Goch (the red mountain), where he had requested for his ashes to be scattered. A procession was held to the top of the hill.
Roedd John Sampson wedi cael ei eni yn Stryd Victorian, Lerpwl. Cafodd ei gladdu ar fryn yng Nghymru. Daeth llawer o fobl i bentref bychan Llangwm,wrth yml Corwen, o dan y Foel Goch sef y mynydd coch lle yr oedd wedi gofyn wrth ei deulu am wasgaru ei lwch yno. Cawsant orymdaith ar y ffordd i'r copa.
