The mill was built in 1759. It belonged to the Garthmeilio Estate. It was sold in 1923 to a new tenant, Mr Hugh Hughes. The Mill was an important part of the village. The old miller was Humphrey Humphreys. He had a wife and 4 children. They came there in 1881. After Humphrey Humphreys died in 1909 Robert Evans Penant came to live there. Then Ned Lloft Briws came there. After Ned Llofft Briws died lots of people came there. In 1939 Arthur Jones bought the mill. From 1939 the water mill used turbine instead of water to work the mill. From 1923 the mill produced electricity for Llangwm.
