The first chapel was built by the Presbyterians in 1822 and re-built in 1859. A chapel-house was built attached to the main building during this re-construction and stables were built nearby fore worshipers to leave their horses during the services. The chapel was formally opened on the first Sabbath in 1860. Today, the stables are used for storage. A young family have made their home in the chapel-house and the chapel continues to serve the community as a place of worship - about 250 people are members there. |
