The school trip

"Hurry" yelled Guto "Or we’ll lose the bus!"
"I’m coming!" panted Davie.
Pont yr Efail school was going on a school trip to Chester zoo. Guto and Davie got on the bus just in time.
"Where have you been we’ve been waiting for ten minutes"
"Sorry Miss we had to go on an errand for Guto‘s mum".
"Well you’re here now that’s all that matters. Away driver" and off they went.
Davie played on a game boy and Guto looked out of the window. Both were in the same year at school they both had quite good marks in the exams and were clever boys.
"What are you looking forward to seeing?" asked Davie
"Oh I am going to love looking at the Cheetahs" answered Guto.
The journey was very long. When they reached the zoo they were allowed to pick a partner to go round the zoo with.
Guto picked Davie. First they looked at the black Rhinos, they were very big.
Suddenly Johnny Peterson slipped off the wall into the paddock!
"Oh no" yelled Davie as the massive rhino lumbered over to Johnny.
"Don’t yell or move" Warned the keeper.
"Trust Johnny" whispered Guto. The keeper went into the paddock soothing the Rhino with nice words.

After he came out Johnny asked Davie and Guto,
"Please don’t say nothing about this or I’ll be in detention for a week!"
Next they saw the Elephants. They were very big except for a little tiny baby who squeaked. He Squeaked
"SQUEEEEEEEEK"
when Peter Jones threw a bun to him. Suddenly there was a "ROARRR" and a keeper came running yelling.
"Houdini and Yuan Yuan the Tigers have escaped!!"

Davie and Guto ran towards the nearest Exit but there was a beautiful tiger and tigress blocking the exit. They ran into the bat cave, the tiger and tigress followed growling. They were blocking the way out. They waited trembling for five minutes, suddenly Guto had an idea. He grabbed his packed lunch and threw the sandwiches away to the tigers. But the tigers smelled more in the bag and they walked into the cave.
"Don’t make a sound" whispered Guto as he emptied the contents of the bag on the floor and backed off.
"We have to keep them at bay until the keepers come" said Guto. They had to wait in a dark cave with two tigers for an hour before Davie had a chance to sneak out to get the keepers. Davie ran to get the keepers.
"Me and my friend have the tigers in the bat cave please hurry!" he panted.

The keepers were there in no time with a net. The keepers managed to catch the tigers in time. Guto and Davie walked proudly to the bus.
On the way back Guto dreamt that there was a tiger with a net trying to save Johnny Peterson from a Rhino. Davie dreamt that there was a little elephant running after a tiger shooting buns from his trunk!

Two days later Davie and Guto got a hundred pounds each. They also got a free pass so they could go to the Zoo free for the next ten years! They also got a letter of thanks from the Zoo director.
"We have a good story to tell to our new friends when we go to the big school don’t we" said Davie.
" You bet!!" said Guto.
